Backpack Program

Womenade Backpack Program

Womenade volunteers fill backpacks with donated food at local elementary and middle schools. Each Friday between 10:30 and 11:30 our volunteers meet at the school sites to fill the backpacks. Some volunteers provide the food, others fill the backpacks. The backpacks are given to students who would otherwise go hungry during the weekends. The full backpacks go home with the selected students on Friday afternoon and are returned to school empty on the following Monday. This program is kept private and only the students receiving the backpacks know the backpacks contain food for the weekend. If you choose to donate food we have donation forms for tax purposes.
