Also, I just wanted to say thank you, not just for helping my clients but also me personally. When I was at Cuesta College some years ago, Andrea Devitt was my school counselor and with her and Womenade's help I was able to continue my schooling and eat that month. Now, I am fully employed and able to help others. I just wanted to take the time to let you know that your program really improves the community.

I just received a check from Womenade to help pay for some of an outrageously enormous dental bill. Gloria at the Hearst Cancer Resource Center helped me thru you to help me receive this donation from Womenade.

Honestly, I don't know what I would have done without your help, and it's hard to believe that an organization as generous as yours actually exits and that there are actually people out there who care. But this is so heart warming to find out that there is so much good will in this county and there is help for those of us who are having a tough struggle.

For me when I lost my health to two separate cancers and was spending so much out of pocket on doctors and medical bills, I felt overwhelmed and helpless as I saw my life ahead of me unravel one dollar at a time, day in and day out, to the point where I suddenly one day saw that I had used up all my savings for my medical needs. As you can imagine, when your help from Womenade came I was overwhelmed with gratitude and joy.

Thank you for being there when I needed you and had no where to turn for help. I will never forget this.

Sincerely,
B

My kiddos are really utilizing the support from Womenade to do positive things right now. The juvenile probation officer from Juv. Drug Court, Officer Martinez, also wanted me to pass along his gratitude for the assistance you've so generously given, we are seeing a lot more success because our participants are finding healthier activities and work opportunities.

E. was thrilled to get himself a good pair of work boots. Here is what he texted me: "I just wanted to tell you thank you. I have never had such a nice pair of boots. I got some waterproof ones (he's building swimming pools now) that are amazing! I can not thank you enough!" This can make a huge difference in his life, as you know.

Dear Sandy,

I heard you speak last night at St. Timothy's in Morro Bay. I wanted to share my story of how many times that I called you and you always made it so easy and said "YES". You spoke so eloquently for those who have no voice and are close to having no hope.

A few years ago you helped a Migrant Ed student of mine. This little guy loved soccer REALLY LOVED SOCCER and wanted to go to the Cal Poly Soccer Camp during the summer. Your group made that happen for him.

I took him to the camp on the Cal Poly Campus to register, get his room, meet his young athletic Cal Poly coaches and help him settle in. It was pretty overwhelming for me to see all these club students from all over California with extremely involved parents arriving very confidently.

I was so proud of my student who shook hands with the coaches with his 3 years of very limited English, and walked down the long dark dorm corridors to find his room. I wonder what it looked like through his eyes...a huge campus, campus housing, and a week to live there and no parent bringing him there but a teacher.
...
Since then I have only interfaced with them a few times but he still LOVES soccer, still has GREAT memories of that special Soccer Camp, has done well at Laguna and now is closer to home studying at MBHS
...
Anyway, it was a wonderful gift that you gave this student. Perhaps he will go on to college remembering his great week at Cal Poly. I certainly hope so.

Sincerely,

SLO Womenade is there for our Department of Social Services participants during their time of need when no other resources are available through our agency. Sometimes some things as simple as gas, a simple car repair, help with utilities, clothes, diapers, formula, etc. makes the difference between destitute and stability and SLO Womenade has been the safety net that has allowed our families to meet their urgent needs.

The support and assistance Womenade has given to victims who we serve has been enormous. From help with gas cards to paying a utility bill or rent for a client, Womenade has helped to fill in the gaps for our clients who are moving forward from an unhealthy and unsafe lifestyle. Womenade's assistance has made it that much easier and smoother for our clients to become independent and self-sufficient. Thank you for all you do to help those in our community.

The work and assistance Womenade has given has been invaluable to the clients we serve at The Independent Living Resource Center. Through their generous financial assistance they have kept many of our clients stably housed and living a independent life in the community. They have kept a young mother attending Nursing School from facing eviction by assisting with rent. Several clients have had assistance with car repairs to get to doctor's appointments and or keep their jobs. A legally blind Veteran was able to get housed with assistance from Womenade and other organizations. They also have provided household goods to clients that have none. Womenade is a beacon of light to the most fragile who live in our community and for the organizations that assist this special population. I cannot give enough thanks and appreciation for all the good they do!

Dear Sandy,

We just want to let you know how much we and our homeless and formerly homeless clients in South County appreciate the help Womenade has given the most vulnerable people in our community over the years. Because of your generosity, homeless people have been housed, formerly homeless people have maintained their housing, babies have been born, children and adults have been clothed, hungry people have been fed, stranded people have been transported, and so much more. The list of things Womenade has done to make the lives of our clients better could go on and on. Womenade is the organization we go to when our clients have a serious and immediate emergency need which we are otherwise unable to fill. There have been so many instances when bringing one measure of stability to the lives of homeless men, women, and children could not have been achieved without the contribution of Womenade.

Womenade is truly a great asset to our community. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

The ongoing support of Womenade has helped the children and families we serve experience new activities, get back to school in style, and meet essential needs so parents can focus on their families. Their donations have helped to create a surfing enthusiast needing a wetsuit, have helped a young mother take her newborn on a walk with a stroller, and have helped young adults learning about independence get to work with their bicycle. Thank you to Sandy Richardson and her wonderful team for all that you have done.
